Popcorn Lazy Daisy Stitch

The Popcorn Lazy Daisy Stitch Makes Things Pop! 🖤 Learn how to make the popcorn lazy daisy stitch to take your embroidery work to another level! This one is so much fun once you get the hang of it and it's going to add gorgeous volume and texture to your work that just might push your embroidery to the next level. I love using the popcorn lazy daisy stitch for some of my flower embroidery designs and it turns my flat work into a piece that literally has parts that can be moved and manipulated. You could say it gives things a little bit of life. It’s not a stitch I would recommend as a beginner because it takes both hands, some extra coordination, and a bit of patience. There’s an element of awkwardness when first learning this stitch, and I think that’s probably true for most stitches, but with the popcorn lazy daisy stitch, it takes some getting used to. Heart Shaped Flower Embroidery for Valentine’s Day

🖤 Sit back and enjoy a beginner-friendly, heart-shaped embroidery pattern. Download the free pattern & stitch along using basic embroidery stitches with my easy video tutorial!

Hearts and flowers are some of my favorite things but to be frank, I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s day because I think if you love someone it should be everyday. But, I can absolutely appreciate it as a reminder to love the special people in our lives, especially when life can get a bit hectic or busy. So, with that, I put together a cute little heart shaped flower embroidery pattern for the occasion.

This easy embroidery pattern fits nicely in a 4 inch hoop but I’ve put mine on a larger hoop during the stitching process so I could make my video tutorial without too much background. It’s a Scandinavian-inspired design consisting of 4 cute hearts with little yellow flowers sitting on top, and some leaves in between.

Of course, it doesn’t have to be stitched onto hooped fabric. Try stitching it to a linen shirt or maybe some napkins or tea towels, and gift them to loved ones. Taking time to create something for someone really does make them feel loved. I’m going to use this pattern to sew on as a patch to my dog’s hoodie, because she’s the love of my life, and while my husband is too, this design isn’t really his style, lol.

To stitch this cutie, you’ll need the pattern so download the free pattern, which you can use for your personal projects (no commercial use permitted).

In the past, I’ve included a step-by-step tutorial with photos, but from here on out I’ll most likely be sticking to video tutorials which I think are more helpful as most of us are visual people. Plus, you can follow along and pause the video when needed.

Here’s what you’ll need for this stitch along:

  • 4 or 5 inch hoop (10.16 or 12.7cm)
  • fabric with pattern transferred to it. I simply traced it with a pencil using the window method.
  • scissors
  • needle
  • DMC threads: 321, 604, 3053, 413, and 834

Here are the stitches you’ll need:

And here's the video tutorial. Enjoy!
